I'm not sleeping.

That's the only thing I want right now,a nice cozy, comfy and soft bed to crash in... I am sooooooooo tired.Maani was working into the wee hours last night. And I couldn't sleep I ended up staying awake pretty much all night.I think I fell asleep around 8:00 am for a little while, but Maani didn't get a chance to take a nap until late afternoon.
I felt so bad for him,but I was so proud of him for fixing the bugs and issues. He sure is my hero :)

Earth day- everyday in our home.

We at the Khan household, pretty much do make everyday ,Earth day.

All of us try to make sure we don't waste Water or energy.Even littleWaaiz makes sure that there are no light bulbs left ON in empty rooms. He will make sure that he is not wasting water while brushing his teeth. He makes me so happy :)

I got this from my mom,she made sure none of her kids would waste food, water, electricity, money etc etc... kinda became habitual for me to use less water while washing dishes, turn off light bulbs when exiting a room. And now it is so rewarding to watch my own child learn good things.

I rarely use my clothes dryer when I do laundry, instead I hang them out on the clothesline in the backyard :) old school, huh.
I just love looking at the colorful clothes from my living room window and when you bring them inside..they smell really good - probably a scent of fresh air, which can't be described :)

One huge benefit of doing this is that you can actually see a noticeable decrease in your monthly electricity usage and an increase in the life of your favorite jeans - which results in savings, and who doesn't like that :)

Maani, he does his part as well.Quite a while ago, he changed all the light bulbs in our home to those funky looking curly bulbs- haha can't remember what they are called :) He made sure we get energy efficient appliances. He turns off his electronics when they are not in use.Another thing we are gonna start doing this year is use the paper shreds from our home office, underneath the mulch in our flower beds.It helps us use less mulch, and less water.Let's see how that goes.
Along with that he has never been in favor of paper cups, plates and disposable cutlery...unless we have a real valid reason to use them. That's good too,and he makes sure he helps me with the dishes, which is even better!
Another thing we love in our home is that we rarely use harmful chemicals for cleaning.I love the all natural cleaning power of lemon, vinegar and baking soda. Then for some cleaning around the house, I use Basic H from Shaklee.Awesome product. LOVE IT!

Here is what Waaiz was working on today.

I am so proud of him.We still have a few more projects that we have to work on this evening.I will be writing about them tomorrow.
all in all...we love our earth,it's our home and I am so proud of my family for doing our part in taking care of our earth.Earth, you ROCK!

I hate you then I love you!

...and then I love you more!
So, Maani brought this beautiful vase for me this Valentine's day,and it actually goes well with the decor and colors in my living and dining rooms. It took a little while for this vase to grow on me...but before I knew,it finally manage to become one of my favorite piece in my home.
Then, accidently Maani broke it ...I know,I know it was an accident, but I'd still say,he broke it -haha ,and then he brought me flowers. So, you break my vase and you bring me flowers...isn't it like I hate you then I love you, then I hate you and I love you.
Oh well, but then I love you more :) since he promised to try to fix the vase AND brought me purple and pink flowers,I'd say "I never want to be in love with anyone- but you."

True Colors.

I remember in my early childhood years in Libya,My daddy, taught me a neat trick to remember the colors of the rainbow.I thought he was so "cool" to know such an awesome thing .VIBGYOR ya, we all remember that.

Today while working on a lesson with Waaiz, I taught him the same thing I learnt from my daddy.I just loved the look in his bright eyes when I showed him how to remember the colors of a rainbow :)

It is so rewarding watching a child grow and learn new things every day right in front of my eyes.It is the best feeling in the world! I am so blessed ,that I was lucky to have a daddy to look up to an have a child of my own to pass on the things I learnt from him.

Do I get a 80,000 mile service :p

So, it seems like this week has been dedicated to my faithful and obedient car. Most of the time I love my car but yesterday, I felt a hint of jealousy,yup...I envy ed my car!

Monday and Tuesday have been really really exhausting for me, I was basically running errands ,finishing chores from the moment I woke up till almost mid night :( so needless to say, I was cranky and sleep deprived. And along with all that craziness, I had to take care of my car too.

Yesterday I spent my precious energy cleaning the floors, seats, doors, dashboard, trunk, windows etc basically every visible corner of my car in the hot, humid and dark garage. And it didn't end here,I had an appointment at NTB for the regular service ...ha, so I had to take her highness for that!

After cleaning and putting away the vacuum cleaner I rushed for that appointment.

I looked at my car from the big glass window, while I sat at an uncomfortable chair,in the narrow waiting room which smelled like tire rubber.I never felt jealousy like that before, particularly from my car haha, but I wished I was that car, up on the ramp RESTING!!! getting pampered and a deep tissue service haha...

Well, since me and my car are always on the go,at least one of us is in good shape! :)

oh, I just remembered, I was told that I'm gonna have to change the tires pretty soon as well, hmmm NICE!!! maybe I can go shoe shopping before doing that :p Just a thought!
