This was a pretty simple cake.Preheat your oven to 350'F.Prepare your pan (9"x 13" OR 3- 8" rounds)Add Baking Soda to the mashed bananas.Sift the rest of your dry ingredients.
Combine, oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla.add dry ingredients alternating with sour cream.Mix gently. Then fold the mashed bananas in the batter.
Pour batter into the pans and bake about 25-35 minutes.

Cuteness overload :D baby dress and blanket and of course a cake!!!

I have been sewing and altering shirts and outfits almost two weeks now...only about half way done with my sewing. My machine has a mind of its I barely get a few hours every other day to sew... so its kinda slow progress but hey at least I am getting things done :)
I wanted to make a baby dress for my friend's brand new baby girl.
Here is where I found the template. But call it an unfortunate fact about me...I can't follow step by step directions with out making changes :p that's just me right there for ya!
Here is what I did.First off you print out the template or if you have little babies running around the house, then you can very well find dresses and shirts for measurements :)
Cut 4 of these (2 if you have a thicker fabric)
I took a 8"x 18" fabric for the yolk, you can have more than 18" if you like a fuller dress.
If I am lucky...then the finish product should be something like this :)
I had some allowance in the yolk fabric so I made some gathers at the waist part.Looks pretty.
tada!!! both front and back part of the bodice are done...all neatly pressed.
see the pretty trim...I love it.
there...that 8"x18" rectangle actually turned into a skirt!!! I used the remaining fabric...cut a loooooooonnnnnng thin piece, sewed that same white trim at one edge and ruffled the other end tightly. Then attached that to the yolk of the dress.
I had this pretty lace sitting in my lace and piping box,so I ruffled it and attached it to the front bodice.
obviously...when everything is going right something really really stupid decides to happen...and that's what this picture is about... look closely...I attached the yolk to the bodice wrong side out! ugh...have I ever reminded myself how much I adore (NOT) ripping tiny stitches and re doing something!!! ugh...its almost as annoying as peeling the butter cream off a perfectly smooth cake, just because the edge is not sharp or the cake has bulges... (YES I am a cake decorator by heart ..heeheeheehe)
ahhh much better!
Yes it was tiny :) perfectly new born size.and look.... the yolk is attached right side out :)
here it is all its glory :) pretty cute huh.
you guys wanna see the blanky I made? it is sooooooo soft and cute! I love it :) oh and W loves it too...i might wanna have to make him a blanky now!
I will be wrapping these up nicely and hopefully I will visit my friend and her baby this week.I also plan on trying something new :) a fun cake! perfect for a new mommy and new baby!
Wanna see my sketch... here
Wish me luck! I will be back with pictures when the cake is done.

I LOVE OKRAAAAAAAAAAA.I can't get enough of it...too bad I don't find perfectly ripe Okras to cook! But when I do! oh yea..I'm in heaven :D
Here is how I make them...try it!
You will need to wash Okras ...let them dry on a kitchen towel over night or a few hours...then chop chop!
Take about 1 large onion, cut into slices.Heat about 1 Tablespoon of oil in a skillet...
Add about 1 tsp of cumin seeds,1 tsp of Nigella Seeds( kalonji) this is what they look like.
Add, 1 tablespoon of fennel seeds.
Let them sizzle a bit...then add 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, add the onions in there, let them cook for about 3 minutes...meanwhile grab about 3 medium tomatoes and chop chop.Set them aside.
Add 1 1/2 tsp of Cayenne peppers(red chili powder),1 tsp of coriander powder and 1 tablespoon of chopped ginger and garlic.YUM! Add the chopped tomatoes.Add some chopped JalapeƱos if you wish :) Stir.It is looking pretty !
Now take your chopped Okra...heat a tsp or less olive oil in another skillet and fry the Okra in it for about 5 minutes...Carefully take them out and add them to the onion/tomato skillet...Cover and turn the stove off. There you have yummy Okra Stir fry.It is delicious.

I said,I love Pizza and I love Chocolate :D

Looks yummy, huh!
I invited my friend and her hubby over for dinner this week,I couldn't figure out what to make for a light and quick dessert...I was browsing for recipes and my friend Amanda, suggested a few all boiled down to a dessert pizza or the Pizzert as you'd call it :)
Waaiz kept asking about brownies so I thought,I can make a fudgy brownie crust for our pizzert. So I looked for ingredients and this recipe took basically what you'll find sitting around in your kitchen cabinet :)
It turned out to be super yummy...very light and delicious.Try it!
Here is how to make your pizzert.Or better yet, let's just say, here is how to make your fruits unhealthy :D heehehee
You will need,
1/2 cup of All purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 1/2 Tablespoon almond paste/almond butter/Nutella/Peanut butter (optional)

Preheat your oven at 350'F.Sift the first four ingredients.Set aside.( I was in a hurry so I didn't do that :) I just made this recipe into a one bowl brownie batter :D
Melt butter in the microwave.
Now I had this little jar of almond paste I thought i'd use this :)
Add all the ingredients in a big bowl.Mix and prepare a 10" round pan by greasing the sides and lining it with parchment paper.
Pour the batter into your pan.Looks yummy!
Bake this on the middle rack for 18 minutes. While this is baking, prepare your "sauce" for the pizzert crust.
You will need: Basically whatever you have on hand :)
I had leftover
4oz Fat/Fun Free cream cheese,
2 Table spoon powdered sugar,
2 Tablespoon shredded coconut
and some Fun Free :) Cool Whip topping.
Mix the first 3 ingredients together in a bowl, add a few drops of Almond extract or coconut extract to compliment the almond in the crust.
Once everything is mixed in...gently fold 3 Tablespoons of cool whip. Refrigerate.
By this time, your oven timer should be beeping.Take your brownie pizza out.Let it cool on a wire rack. When it is cool enough to handle...take it out on your serving dish.
Get your toppings ready :)
Take your cream cheese sauce out and spread it on your pizzert crust.YUM!

Decorate with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Don't forget the coffee :)

From Cake to Couture..

Remember Tina's wedding cake, from this post? It had that pretty rhinestone trim attached to the silk ribbon. See...

and then there was some leftover I found another shirt that could use some bling :) my little black dress!
pretty, huh! I LOVE it...I can't wait to wear these outfits and have every delicate fabric get tangled to my rhinestone trim...haha! oh least my shirts are pretty :)
