Laddoos for my Laddoo :)

so I am talking to a fellow cake decorator and he was asking about Indian deserts.During this conversation I send him a few links to some videos of indian desert recipes...and one of them was of laddoos...Waaiz immediately started craving laddoos :) haha....what a cutie...I call him my laddoo sometimes! Laddoos are sweet, moist, comforting and yummy.
laddoos are little truffles made with different kinds of flours, basic procedure is the same for all sorts of laddoos...first you dry roast the flour, then you introduce sugar in it and then continue roasting....add cardamom continue roasting...and yada yada! lets get to the recipe...
You will need,1 1/4 cup Gram flour,
2 Tbsp of Semolina flour,
Take these two guys and throw them in a heavy bottom skillet on medium low heat.It is very important to continuously stir it other wise it will burn in seconds and will taste yucky.
In about 6 minutes you should be admiring the aroma and the flour should be looking like this.
Turn the hear off and now it is time to add some more ingredients.
Add about 1/4 cup of brown sugar or white sugar,if you don't like brown sugar,
add 4 tablespoons of olive oil,if you like you can add 1/8 cup of shredded coconut,
2 Tablespoons of Earth Balance and about 3 table spoons of honey or maple syrup.
and about 3 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup.
Mix it all together and let it sit and come to a warm temperature.Roll your sleeves and get in there with your hands and mix it real good.
Once everything is all in perfect harmony this is how it should look like.
Now start making little balls.Or just get yourself some banana slices and sprinkle this on top of it and sit back and enjoy spoonfuls of this yummy goodness :)
See how yummy they are! LOVE THEM!
