Like Father,like son!

jeez...I knew he'd kill me with these eyes.sigh! I am so lucky and blessed he is mine...ALL MINE! heehee
and this one! ah angel face.
they melt my heart!

Oscars,shoes and pancakes.

Guess what!!! this year I watched the Oscars for the first time...yes! first time ever,I made myself sit down and watch the ceremony...I enjoyed it,even though I didn't get a chance to watch the whole walk the red carpet, who are you wearing? part etc...blame it on my "I'd rather be doing something creative than watch some silly TV show, philosophy.
Every one has their favorite dresses and people from the Oscar night, what and who was yours? My favorite thing from the Oscars ceremony was the sparkly pumps that Anne Hathaway wore with that silly Tuxedo outfit...did you notice them? I DID! of course...

Here is some more dirt on those shoes and the designer.
I do have kinda similar pumps...so these made me extra happy.Mine are H by Halston, designed by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker.
Here are those cute thangs!
and if you are my friend...you know I usually pay $10-$12 for shoes that retail for $80 ;)
Anyways, back to the health stuff... So I got this email from Cindy Whitmarsh with lots of health tips, workouts and recipes. And in there was a recipe for yummy and healthy pancakes with whole wheat flour! YUM.They were SUPER delicious.
and he gave them thumbs up
Here is W enjoying his Saturday brunch!
look at his plate :)

I know now you are craving for some fluffy pancakes...OK,here is how to make them

1-cup whole- wheat flour

3/4 t. baking soda

1/2 t. ground ginger
1/2 t. ground cinnamon
1/4 t. ground cloves
3/4 t. salt
2 t. instant decaffeinated coffee powder
1/4 cup hot water
2 egg whites, beaten
6 oz. frozen unsweetened apple juice concentrate, undiluted
2 T. corn oil
Fresh apple butter, optional

1. Combine the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a large mixing bowl. In another smaller bowl, dissolve the instant coffee in the hot water. Add the egg, apple juice concentrate, and melted margarine and mix well. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix just enough to moisten the dry ingredients. The mixture will be lumpy.

2. Spray a hot skillet or griddle with non-stick cooking spray. Spoon the batter, 1/4 cup at a time, onto the hot griddle. Cook until the top of each pancake is covered with tiny bubbles and the bottom is brown. Turn and brown the other side.

3. Place 2 pancakes on each plate and serve with Fresh Apple Butter if desired.

Serves 8.

NOTE: I made a few changes to the recipe.

I used skimmed milk for the liquids and did not use any spices.Instead I used 1 tsp of Vanilla extract! YUM

shhhh its pronounced as Brus-Kettah...

...and all this time I thought I was eating,Brushettah! anyway you say it... Bruschetta is YUM!
wanna make it? here is how.
Get all this,(Fresh roma tomatoes,fresh Basil,onion,lemon juice,balsamic vinegar,dried parsley,black pepper and Sun dried tomatoes).
and some salt, black pepper and fresh chopped garlic.
finely chop the onions, sun dried tomatoes (optional) and fresh basil and dice the tomatoes in somewhat big chunks.Add,a pinch of black pepper, salt to taste,2 Tablespoons of lemon juice,1 tablespoon of Balsamic vinegar.Mix everything together and let it sit for a few hours.
Get a nice fresh Baguette and cut it into thin slices diagonally.
When you are ready to serve, pre heat oven at 450'F and arrange all the bread slices on a cookie sheet,if you want extra crispy bread you can drizzle some nice olive oil on the cookie sheet and coat the bread.
Keep checking on the bread and when the bottom is nice golden brown and crisp, turn the broiler on and if you have a cheese lover in the house, you can sprinkle some or tons of cheese on the bread slices and broil them for 4 minutes.Just until they are golden brown and crispy.
Take the sheet out carefully and get the bruschetta, give it a stir to mix the ingredients.
Now,scoop out a nice serving of bruschetta on each bread slice.Serve them on a nice plate.
I made yummy thin spaghetti with chopped tomatoes, bell peppers, basil and black pepper.
Served the grilled vegetables on the side and viola! you have a nice dinner :D
Enjoy!

YUM!

ah... Tuesday after a long weekend is a very very boring and slow day for me! I am sure it is universal :)
So during our lunch break I marinated some vegetables for grilling.YUM!that surely makes a boring workday interesting.Food makes anything better!
You can make this ahead of time and use them throughout the week in various ways. You can toss them with some pasta or brown rice. You can get some nice slices of Whole grain bread and some low fat cheese slices and make grilled vegetable Paninis or you can make some grilled chicken breast and have these on the side- endless possibilities and you get your recommended vegetable servings :)
First you start with delicious, fresh and colorful vegetables,I had, bell peppers, carrots, onions and zucchini squash on hand.
Slice your vegetables, add salt, black and white pepper,Cayenne pepper,2 tablespoons of lemon juice, fresh or dried herbs(parsley, basil and oregano) and a nice generous drizzle of olive oil.
Mix and let sit the flavors blend for a few hours.mmmm dont they look yummy!
I grill the vegetables on my George Foreman grill, just remember to spray the surface with PAM.
Happy Tuesday y'all!

If you give a girl $10 :)

She is going to ask for 0.90cents more...

She will tell you, they were $80 retail.
When she finds out that those shoes match her bag...
She will be extra excited.
and they fit perfectly...just her size.
she will tell you...shoe love IS true love.I see a heart! see for yourself...
